Sir John Deane's College undefeated in Under 19 Cheshire Schools

Tournament Winners - Sir John Deane's College                                              Runners Up - Alsager High School

For the second consecutive season Sir John Deane's College has won the Cheshire Schools Under 19 Tournament hosted by Sandbach High School.  The Northwich college remained unbeaten during the group stages, and continued strong against formidable competition from Lymm High School taking the semi final 12 goals to 10.  By the same score Alsager defeated Fallibroome High School in the other semi, thus setting the stage for an exciting conclusion.  In the final Sir John Dean's defence was exceptional in keeping the Alsager attack of Sarah Coleman and Darcie Woresdale at bay, whilst at the other end of the court the shooting duo of Corinne Kinvig and Courtney Perks were clinical in their finishing, leading to a 10 - 7 victory!

Upton-by-Chester High School win Under 13 Cheshire Schools Title

                           Upton-by-Chester                                                                                                Kings Macclesfield

In a close fought final Upton-by-Chester Under 13s narrowly defeated Kings of Macclesfield by a score of 6 - 4 to take the 2008 Under 13s Cheshire Schools Tournament.  Conditions weren't ideal for the tournament held on Saturday 12th April at Hartford High, but all teams dealt well with the off and on wet conditions, and a stiff breeze that also made it a chilly affair.  The excellent standard of play from all attending teams demonstrated that Cheshire has a wealth of developing netball talent.  Well done to all participaticpants!!

Alsager School Under 14s Qualify for National Finals!!

A fantastic achievement!

This year’s Regional round was played at Keswick School in Cumbria.  The team travelled up on the Friday afternoon, staying down the road in Cockermouth, where we had a great evening with the ever supportive parents that made the trip up the M6.  The weather report showed a band of rain and wind across Cumbria but we were praying it would miss the tournament…. No such luck!  The weather was awful!  Strong winds and heavy showers stayed with us throughout the day, and as a result all the teams had to re-think their game plans as the wind took hold of any loopy pass or long distance shot!

Alsager lost their first game to Loreto from Greater Manchester but kept their heads up and went on to win all their other group games convincingly against St Mary’s Queen Elizabeth Grammar School and Wirral.  The semi final was a very close game, which in the end went to extra time!  Fortunately Alsager broke their centre and managed to win by one!  The celebrations began as the team new they had done enough to secure a place in the National Finals!  In the final match we again met Loreto, which was a super game that both teams played with a light heart… we lost out to them again but nobody minded!!

So wet, cold and windswept we started the planning for the FINALS to be held in Bournemouth on March 15th

Under 16s Cheshire Schools' Tournament 2007 / 2008

13th October 2007

This year’s U16 Cheshire Schools' Tournament proved to be one of the closest tournaments we have had in many years.  The overall standard on the day was excellent and there were many good games of netball played.  Luckily the weather managed to stay dry and all schools involved had an enjoyable day at the Hartford High School venue.

A total of 13 schools from across Cheshire took part in two sections finishing the day with semi finals and finals.

In Section 1 All Hallows, Alsager, EPCHS and Knutsford all lost at least one game leaving the final positions being made on goal difference.  Both Alsager and All Hallows finished on 26 points.  However All Hallows goal difference was +40 whereas Alsager’s was +39.  With just one goal in it All Hallows was winners of section 1.

In Section 2 Upton won all of their games to win Section 2 followed by Whitby who lost one of their matches as well as drawing with Hartford.

Section results were:
