A fantastic sunny day at the Grange added to Fallibroome’s U16 perfect day!!
A very impressive tournament, we were undefeated throughout beating school teams around Cheshire.
We played with great composure and control to dominate the court conceding only 35 goals while scoring an impressive 127 thanks to our phenomenal shooters; captain Abi Horton(GA|) who showed great consistency feeding the circle and the legendary Carly Williams.
Ashleigh Blower showed great ball control in the centre court working particularly well with Grace Hatton in WA who fed some amazing balls into the circle.
A special mention to Jess Turpin for outstanding play in defence and Camilla (‘nothing gets past me’) Jordan who is our star interceptor in WD.
Clara Boothby was as always amazing in GK, no one can leap as high as her and Lucy Dawson played a stirling GK and WD too.
Finally, a huge cheer for Aimee Jordan who debuted for the U16s, playing up a year. A definite asset to the team in WA.
Teamwork and some great skills ensured a relatively easy ride to the finals. We played our old rivals, Wilmslow in the semis scoring a respectable 12 goals to 5. The finals proved to be our hardest match with Christleton leading by 2 goals after the first couple of minutes. A mammoth effort was needed to fight back and it was a close run game with Fallibroome only pulling away in the last few minutes to finish 11-7. Christleton played a fantastic game!
A special thank you to the organisers, umpires, and teachers.
Camilla Jordan, Aimee Jordan and Ashleigh Blower
